I have a WIndows 2000 system that automatically produces a report on a local (default) printer, once a day. I would like to change this to print 800 feet from the PC. I can run ethernet cable indoors for about 200 of the 800 feet but the rest of the distance is outdoors (to another building). I was wondering if I could use an ethernet equipped printer and some kind of wireless ethernet link across the 600 ft outdoor run. The PC does not have internet access. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Is there any wiring between the two buildings that can be utilized whatsoever?

If so, there might be some "modems" that can be used to get, in essense, DSL connection speed access to the printer.
Blackbox usually has that kind of stuff
Even if it's power lines (low voltage lines only), you might be able to use power line adapters
If not, then the only thing I can think of would be a point to point wireless bridge setup. D-Link has a few things for this also

Let me know if I helped.

Thanks.

cajuntank....I am looking at the fax utility that comes with windows. That would work fine, except I haven't figured out a way to have to get around the "send fax" wizard that comes up automatically. You can set the default printer to be the fax...but it won't let you automatically send without human intervention (to enter the number, etc). If I can't get past this I will be looking closer at the DLINK stuff. Thanks!!
