Hi

On our Tadiran PBX we have a T1 for LD and a PRI for local. I'm not sure if we are filling up the long distance T1 or not but I am getting complaints from people that they can't dial long distance. I thought we were setup to overflow to the PRI for LD if the LD T1 was full but that doesn't appear to be the case. How would I check this?

Secondly I would like to know if there is a way to status the channels on a T1 similar to our Option 81s in LD 60.

And thirdly how do you block outgoing calls to a certain number?

Thanks

Hi,

several issues here so I'll go thru one by one.

1) Check LCR to see how your dialling out has been setup. LCR Number Plan will show you which digits go to which Element, LCR Elements will tell you which Dial Services they use, LCR Dial Services then tell you which trunk group they use. Write it all down and you'll work out what trunk groups are used for which numbers. Elements can have multiple Dial Services which is how you send it to your T1 first then PRI second.

2) When in programming, go to BUSY and enter the trunk numbers that you want to watch. It is in real time and you can monitor which trunks are in use. You can also use this to watch the busy status of xtns.

3) Blocking calls to numbers is done using the COS (Class Of Service), TOLL and KEY/SLT commands. You need to setup TOLL to block/allow numbers and tell them which COS they relate to. Then assign a COS to a KEYset or SLT. If you want to block one specific number, add it in TOLL and assign it to all COSs and make it a Block option (as opposed to Pass or Check).

Hopefully this answers your questions. If you don't know the programming that well then some of it may not make sense and would need more explaining but if you know it well then you should be able to work it out from what I've told you.

Cheers

I didn't know the programming of this part very well but with your details and a little manual reading I got it all to work properly. Thanks for the help once again.
