Long-distance control?

Can someone tell me what pair of what paramter controls whether a digital extention can make long-distance calls or not?

For example, the following phone cannot make long-distance calls:

CAT TRAF SERV CDIV ROC TRM ADC
4 01040401 00021202 000150000 0230 1 00000003010

But this phone can make long-distance calls:

CAT TRAF SERV CDIV ROC TRM ADC
9 03090904 00031203 000150000 0230 0 00000000000

I'd like to enable Phone A for long-distance calls without changing all the othe parameters (otherwise I'd just re-initiate it with CAT 9). I am thinking the long-distance is in either the TRAF or the SERV, but don't know what, specifically. Can anyone tell me? Thanks...
 
It's the TRAF that controls the call discrimination.

TRAF=aabbccdd

aa=Common Abb dial class
bb=Call discrimination class for Night
cc=Call discrimination class for Day
dd=Traffic Connection Matrix position

The bits bb and cc are relative to the Call discrimination data (NADAP:NUMTYP=CD;)

You can see that phones in Cat 4 have a CD class of 4 (not always the case) and those in Cat 9 have a CD class of 9.

Example:

NADAP

901 4 3 2 1 0
902 4 3

Phone A TRAF=01040400
Phone B TRAF=01020200

Phone A and Phone B can call 901, but only Phone A can call 902.

Your CD is almost fully open, the categories you have should be able to dial all the number in that list.

So the barring must be done somewhere else. If someone else can help out here I'd be most grateful.

I've noticed that bits dd in your traf are different. Lets take a look at your traffic connection matrix. Run the commands TCMAP:CON=ALL; and ROCAP:ROU=ALL; and post them on here

Also tell me a long distance number and short distance number and the number used to get an outside line (in UK it's normally 9)
 
First, a bit more information. I contacted the user and what they really want is external access. Using cat 4, this phone can only call internally.

I can fix this by making the phone a cat 9 extension, which is probably what I'll do, but I'd like to know WHY cat 4 can only call internally and cat 9 can make both internal and external calls.

I'm not sure what kind of phone number you want, ButtonIt. You must dial 9 to get out externally. 1-517-555-1212 would be a long-distance number, 555-1212 would be a local number.

Can you see how the traffic connection matrix works?

A numbers (on the left going down) are the ones making the call.
B numbers (across the top) are the ones being called.

With your categories Cat 4 sits at level 1, cat 9 sits at level 4 (last two bits in TRAF)

Cat 4 can only make a call to cat 9 if there is a &quot;1&quot; in the matrix between level 1 on the left and level 4 on the top. If it is a &quot;0&quot; then it will not be allowed.

In your TCMAP the level 10 cannot make calls or recieve calls except from extensions or routes with a traf=xxxxxx15

I must add here that the same applies to routes as well.

I'm hoping this is making sense, tell me if it's not and I'll try to describe better.

Unfortunately in this case your routes are at level 15 which means that both cat 4 (level 1) and cat 9 (level 4)can make calls over them.

This means that there must be another reason. Let me think a while.
 
Take a look in the DNT1 & DNT2 - I expect the TOLL entries might shed some light on it.
