IS-IT--Management
In September of this year, the organization I work for switched from one frame-relay/long distance provider (Company A) to another (Company B) because of the substancial savings and over $50K in disputed billing. Company A has been notified several times in writing the amount owed is disputed and has refused to talk to us concerning the amount owed.
Two weeks ago, Company A took action on the disputed bill and sent the organization I work for to collection. In addition, they have blocked all calls coming from their long distance network to our LEC. One of our customers opened a trouble ticket with Company A since they could not call us today, and Company A called me directly to tell me what the problem was.
So, since I use(d) Company A for my home long distance, I cannot call my office.
I spoke to our in-house attorney concerning this matter this afternoon and the attorney was not sure whether or not this type of action is legal.
My questions are, is this type of action legal? And, if not, what steps should we take to have the blocks removed so we can receive all the calls destined for our office?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
