We have an Option 61c. I have a couple of phones throughout the building that have long distance denied (or an NCOS of 3).

However, from time to time, a user needs to make a long distance call from these phones and I would like to be able to give them a authorization code.

Anyone know how I could set this up?

Thanks

LD 88

new
aut

enter the auth code you want
enter the NCOS they will have after the code is entered

if you already have existing auth codes, you can
prt
aut
in LD 88 also.

BTW you also need to know the second level password to do any of the above.

Thanks for your help dnc16, however, still no go.
I printed aut codes in ld 88. A bunch of strange numbers appeared. I tried to create a new code and it kept coming back with this:
REQ new
TYPE aut
CUST 0
CODE 005
AUTH005
CODE 5635
AUTH005
CODE 5
AUTH005
CODE 7
AUTH005
CODE 005
AUTH005
CODE

Any idea how to create a new code?

Thanks

The error code you are getting means you are trying to enter an auth code number which is not the correct specified length (ALEN). Look at your print out of previous
auth codes and your new codes have to be the same number of digits.

There are two sets of numbers:

one is xxxxxx (6 characters in length)
The other is XXX 3 characters like 006 005

Does this make sense?

I have checked the NTP's and they are not clear.

Can you give me an axample of what I should be looking at or how I should be viewing it?

Thanks

The first number is the auth code. So any new auth code you want to create has to be 6 digits. The second number is the NCOS the user gets when they enter the auth code.

Ok, great. thanks.

What would the user do at the set with the following codes?

CODE CLAS CODE CLAS CODE CLAS CODE CLAS CODE CLAS

067491 006 102119 006 121476 006 143927 006 176543 006

do they enter the code and then dieal the number etc....what is the sequence of things?

Thanks

They would have to enter SPRE code +6
To get SPRE go to LD 21 and prt cdb this will show you SPRE usually it’s a 2 digit #.

Stonecold is right, depending on the auth code package you have. If you have the enhanced auth code package, then the user just dials the number, they will hear a stuttering dial tone and they enter their 6 digit auth code. If it is not the enhanced package then they have to follow the spree
code entry routine that Stonecold talked about.
