SCO 5.0.5

I recently added a network printer.
I added the printer to /etc/hosts:

# @(#)hosts 1.2 Lachman System V STREAMS TCP source
# SCCS IDENTIFICATION
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.1.1 news news.wfmj.com
192.168.1.128 HPlaser

When I ping 192.168.1.128, it's fine.
When I ping HPlaser, it takes 2 - 3 minutes and then responds normally.

What can cause such a delay? Printing takes forever!

Seems to be a DNS issue
If you have a /etc/resolv.conf file, check it for this line:
hostresorder local bind

Hope This Help, PH.
