This is down to your digit timer , what you can do is specify a tight range in your aar table to match the exact digit length for calls to the Nortel then you will have no delay.

montyzummer,

Thanks for reply,
I did not get you still new in AvayaCM, My AAR printout here, I am dialing 118+2062 Nortel EXT,

So looking at this you seem to have the correct entry in the aar table but you may have a similar entry overriding that setting try ....1182062 7 7 , to see if that routes correctly , if you are dialling the tac code for the qsig trunk in your case *2 , you could add 1182 to the uniform dial plan and from there select the aar tables.

Also your dial plan ana I cant see a method for accessing the trunk but it must be there ,

List trace the call post the results ,

Also try list aar route chosen 1182067 ... see what that returns before you make any further changes. As the trunk looks ok with regards to enblock dialling.

It really depends on what your Nortel extension range is , you can just do 11820 7 7, or 1182 7 7 , that will provide a better match than what you had previously. Also change the call type from unkn to aar within the aar ana table.

I think your call routing is a due a redesign.

Personally, I'd define the Nortel extension range as a UDP range and use that to route calls through AAR directly rather than use prefix digits.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

montyzummer,

I cannot tell if I missed it in the long posts but how long is the extension on the Nortel system? If the 118 just being added so the Avaya can route the call out then it seems like the UDP should be stripping it.

PLS help how to ride off from Delay???

You said you are dialing 118+nnnn implying that the 118 is not part of the extension on the Nortel. If it is not then strip it off in the UDP. Enter 3 in the delete field. The Nortel may be waiting for a 4th digit in the second set of 4 (your are sending it 7 digits).

Thanks for your concern, I changed as you mention but result is same, delay around 11 sec. by the way Nortel expecting 7 digit from Avaya and strip it off 118 itself.

I would recommend changing 118 in the dial plan from aar to ext. This will cause the system to use Uniformed Dial Plan to make the routing decision. Then set up UDP to use AAR however you would like. I typically do not use FAC-less dialing, but the times that I have, I found ARS Digit Conversion to play a large roll. The delay you are experiencing is likely because the number matches an ARS entry with a longer digit length. You could try adding 118 to the ARS digit conversion table with 7 digits to send it to AAR to see if that helps with the delay.
Code:
change ars digit-conversion 1 Page 1 of 2
                       ARS DIGIT CONVERSION TABLE

Thanks Lot redphone,
.....yep it’s working fine no more delay after changing in dial plan 118 from AAR to EXT.
