I am trying to write a Crystal Report V8.5 using an Oracle ODBC driver SQORA32.DLL Version 9.02.00.00 to retrieve a Long data type from a database. The field is truncated to a very short length (from 1 to 5 characters)so I cannot display the field on the report. I can write the same report using CROR8v36 (CROR815.DLL) and it works. I believe I also tried it using an older version of the SQORA32.DLL and it worked. However, this report is to be used with R25 which has been installed all over campus using the Oracle ODBC drivers version 9 so I cannot develop the report using a different ODBC. Is this a known issue and is there a solution? Any ideas of what my problem may be?

You're not supposed to use that ODBC driver.

Either use the Crystal supplied ODBC driver, or use the much more efficient Crystal native connection to Oracle.

Keep in mind that Oracle 9 wasn't out when your old version of Crystal was released, so some things won't work, such as timestamp with timezone.
