Every customer we have that had BT install their IP Office are in legal battles for various issues, ranging from poor installation, to being sold licences they never needed.
Yes, they do a good job of messing up every stage ... pre-sale, sale, installation and maintenance. And then there is the awful BT Quantum (Mitel in disguise) they sell..... try and find someone happy with one of those
We have a similar problem here with Bell Canada but to their defense I have to say they install in excess of 30 systems every week within the larger region and there has to be some that get the short end of the stick.
They probably (actually for sure they have as I know a couple) have some good people but also some dopes that don't know their a$$ from their elbow and these are the ones that are messing up things.
Nevertheless they are welcome to come to us and have it fixed don't they.
Don't you love getting into a system that has been programmed by someone else and see how they do things? I just love it and I have to say that I have learned new and better ways to do things that way too.
Last one we took over, the system couldn't dial 999 due to some really bad short coding!!!
Is it possible to get rid of the BT branding on their systems or is it stuck?
I did wonder about an SD card change, but can't get a straight answer out of anybody. Scansource told me they don't know as they wouldn't support it anyway because it wasn't bought from them (fair enough I suppose!!!)
The claim to have a in built vpn to the IPO that is BT specific ( don`t know if it is true) , my experience of BT and Avaya ,is if its not on my work sheet I cant do it (hmm dont know how to more like !)they are crude , expensive , rip of merchants ....allegedly!
amriddle , my experience has been BT direct employees with endless conference calls with little outcome , example 5 site scn with no networking licence`s time and time again this was mentioned but disregarded luckily scan source pulled some temp licences out of the bag during the recent black out to save the day , with direct BT techs doing the installs ( or should I say scratching heads and on the phone )
The branding is sort of a one-way journey. Once its been applied, the system sets a register somewhere so the branding remains through resets/defaults/erasure/everything. The value of the license instance sets the particular branding applied, so I suspect there's another value of the license instance that is effectively unbrand but Avaya off course don't sell that one.
ps. the last conversation I had, 1 in every 12 IP Office's being sold was going through BT.
