Hi All

As per our company policy we need to store all the logs likes in Application, system logs in win2k3 server, my cisco firewall logs etc on periodical basis.

Is there any mechanism, to collect all the logs from various sources and storing in a readable format.

Can anyone tell me what is the best possible method to store all these logs, and how corporates managing it.

Regards
Sakthi

We don't have a policy to store all the logs. WE have a policy that states that the logs will be checked on a periodic basis as a pro-active effort to head off potential problems.

Good luck,

There are many log management tools for Windows, but if you want to have both Windows and Cisco devices logged, then I recommend you find SYSLOG for Windows which is a port of the Unix/Linux based syslog daemon(service). You can dedicate a server to be your syslog server and have it pull the events for you.
