Logon to NT 4 domain from XP Pro client

When attempting to logon to an NT 4 domain, which the client had previously had access to I get the message
network name cannot be found. The XP machine had been logging on with a static IP.. Changed the system to DHCP and now I get the error..??

Type: ipconfig /all

That will tell you if the XP box is getting the proper IP from DHCP. If not, troubleshoot your DHCP server.

Fred is right and if you get a result with ip address starting 169.254.x.x that's APIPA, it means your DHCP is not working.
