Hi

Anyone have idea's on this?

I have NT4 Servers with W2K workstations. On setting up the logon scripts in repl\imports (NETLOGON) the W2K workstations will not run the logon script.I'm assuming the NETLOGON has the correct rights by default.

I've had this working on previous networks with NT4 workstations and servers.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Helfenmir.

Are the win2k workstations member of the NT4 domain, and that the share permissions on the NETLOGON is for everyone with READ access?

Thanks SSAY, Iv'e got it working now. Everthing seems to be authenticating with the BDC. I put the script for testing on the PDC with no replication setup and an assumtion that users would authenticate on the PDC, or at least some of them would.

Why do they not replicate on the PDC?

Thanks again

I have battled with the NT 4 replication of scripts for years, the least painful way to fix your replication is not to use the nt replication tool -I assume that is what you are using. I would suggest you use a simple script off your PDC to copy any changed scripts or all to your scripts to all BDC's. You can automate it to run every day if you wish through an AT command. Most likely you will only need to push out script changes when you make changes so you may not want to even want to automate the replication.

Users that logon into a domain usually hit a BDC first for a logon script, might also be a sign that your PDC is overworked.

good luck

Charles
