Hello, we are having problems getting an XP client to run the logon script. This is new ground for us, and have done the following so far...

Set up a test server as a domain.

Installed and used Group Policy Management Console to create a new GPO, and added a vbs script to it (just to map a couple of drives and display a message).

The client does not run the script when logging on.

If we put a copy of the script in \sysvol\domain.local\scripts and add the name of the script to the user's profile, it will run when logging on. But we want to use the GPO if possible.

The script will run correctly by navigating to the scripts folder, or the GPO's profiles folder, and double-clicking it.

Can anyone please help us to troubleshoot this?

All you need to do is create an OU.Place that user in that OU and create a Group Policy under that OU and add the script to the logon field under that OU. Do a GPUDATE /force and reboot the PC. When the user logon it will execute the script on any PC he logs onto.

If the logon script needs to be visible, then check the GP under user config/admin temp/system/Scripts/Run logon scripts visible - enable it

Scott, we now have it working thanks to your instructions. Many thanks for your help [bigsmile]
