I am new to VB scripting. However I have used Visual Basic 6 for years. It is a little difficult going from VB6 to VB script with no form to place command buttons etc

I am attempting to create a logon script that presents a user with the company computer use policy. The script would also create two command buttons to accept or not accept the policy. If the policy is not accepted the computer is either shut down or logged off, have not decided which one yet.

Of course I would like this to occur before the desktop appears.

I maintain computers at nine different stores for a client. I have attempted to set up users account as power users and other limitations but they run software that requires administrative rights.

What I need is when any user logs in they get a message that employees are prohibited from install or changing software or making changes to the networks. If any thing like this needs to be done they need to call me.

Also most of these stores only have one computer and it is not in a domain so I can not apply a domain policy

I'd keep them restricted and work out the permissions.

Give the users read/write rights to the application's directory and also give permissions to the registry keys for that application. That should eliminate the need to have elevated privileges on the computer.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
