Logon script for mirrored servers

Have added a second server also running Windows Server 2003. The old server is synchronized with the new server with 3rd party software as it does not support clustering. The shares are identical except the new server is called newserver and the old oldserver. How to write a logon script to check for newserver, then map 4 shares for the users, but if newserver is down, it will then map to the old server? Any resource I can get this code from? Thanks.
