Am using XP Home edition. When I shut down the other night it said it was going to install updates which I let it do. Now when I boot up it gives me the logon screen. I am a single user and I absoluty hate that screen. I somehow fixed it before so that I didn't have the logon and it booted right to my desktop...but I can't remember how I did it. Any help out there for me? Thanks in advance

You can also use the following steps to enable automatic logon without editing the registry in Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional (not joined to a domain):
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type control userpasswords2, and then click OK.
In the dialog box that appears, clear the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box, and then click OK.

If on a Domain you have to go into the Registry.
