How can the users terminate there citrix session, so it won´t be kept alive ?

My users will open an application that is called ArcMap,but
before they can enter the application, they need to be connected to a databaseserver.
So they start an ArcMap application, and then a form with a login to the DBserver will pop-up.
sometimes the connection form will freeze. So they terminate there citrix connection. wait a couple of seconds, and then start up a new citrix/ArcMap session.
But the Citrix server, will keep there session alive. So they enter the session that has been kept alive. But now they are freezed once again, and can´t do anything. They terminate the Citrix session..etc. etc.

So, once again, how can the users terminate there citrix session, so that it will not be kept alive.

If the application and/or network connection causes the user to disconnect rather than logoff, there is very little the user can do. However, you can set the server(s) to reset disconnected sessions after a certain amount of time has elapsed. I use 10 minutes on my farm so that if someone wants to disconnect a session and reconnect in just a minute, they are able to. If no one in your environment does this, you could set it to something like 2 minutes. You should leave it set to at least 2 minutes though, that way if a network blip causes them to get disconnected, they can auto-reconnect and get back to where they were. This is configured in the Advanced portion of the properties of the ICA connection in the Citrix Connection Configuration utility (the green hammer icon on the admin toolbar).
