I have an NT workstation 4.0 that hangs at the logon screen (ctl+alt+del). How do I get past this to at least troubleshoot the problem?

You can try booting into VGA mode and see if that helps. Also if you press F8 during boot you can select to boot from DOS prompt. At DOS you can ping the loopback and make sure the card is working. Generally when it hangs at after you do the 3 finger salute (cntrl+alt+del) it is because of a connectivity issue. I would double check the card and make sure the orange light is blinking and make sure the green light is solid. Also you might want to try plugging into a different jack or unplugging the network cable completely and let it sit for 10 seconds. Then try to access the network again. -Does that help ya?
