Hi.

This question involves the message that is displayed when someone fails to logon onto a Win2k machine. I have lab that requires users to have special logins (don't ask why, long story). I need to be able to inform users of this automatically. I figure the best way is when they fail to logon with other logins. How can I modify the failed password message that appears when an incorrect login/password is used. Thank you.

Try this...

When the user presses ctrl-alt-del you can make a message appear before the logon screen appears. The user must click OK to the message before they can logon.

Below is the registry keys you can add to make the message appear.

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\Winlogon
Name: LegalNoticeCaption
Data Type: REG_SZ
Value: <enter text to display in title bar>

New Zealand, a great place to visit.

That's a good idea, but I think it would really start to aggrevate everyone else. Thank you.
