I'm going to be extremely descriptive ... About a month ago, one of the users on my network (consists of about 20 2k workstations and 1 2k server) wanted to synchronize her palm pilot with her outlook, but it kept giving her an error message that she did not have the permissions to update or change device drivers. So, I went into Active Directory on the server and gave her permission to update or change device drivers. It ended up not working, but I left it that way anyways.

About a week ago, a user was having trouble installing a printer, so I logged on as administrator to install it and I got the error that I did not have permission to update or change device drivers and that I needed to logon as administrator. I tried it as both the domain and local administrators (same password) and neither worked. I got the same error when I tried to view the device manager. Thinking that the change I had made 3 weeks earlier may be the problem, I tried to view the device manager on the server, and got the same error message.

So, I went and changed the group policy for loading device drivers to "not defined". Well, this fixed the issue of not having administrative permissions .... BUT ....

Now when I try to logon, either AT the server, or from another computer on the network, it tells me that it can't find my profile because the "logon server is unavailable".

I can use the internet and browse the network if I join the workgroup rather than the domain, but can't logon to the domain itself. I tried to exit the domain and re-join and it gives me a DNS error saying that my domain doesn't exist or can't be contacted.

So, here I am with 20 employees that can't access their files or even browse the internet unless I take them off the domain and put them on the workgroup. Any help would be FANTASTIC!!!
