Hi

I am using WSS 2007 and have set up a portal site for a user. I have redirect set up so that when the user logs on to the IIS site they get redirected to their site.

This was all working ok, now when I try logging on as the user I get an access denied message from within sharepoint (not IIS). Nothing has changed on the server as far as Im aware.

I have also tried setting up a brand new user and giving them rights to logon as a site reader, however this also does not work.

The only account that can logon is the administrator we have set up.

Any ideas on what to look for.

Cheers J

Not sure if it helps, but I've noticed that when we change user within MOSS 2007 we have to specify the domain as well as the username. It's as if the default scope is the local server.

More generally, we have granted domain groups access to certain MOSS sites, which gives seamless (no logon prompt) access for authorised users.

HI

Thanks for this, the user we have set up is a domain user, but they authenticate with Basic Authentication and SSL. We need the user to log on as they get redirected to their own site.

All the users that we plan to have logging in are remote users over the internet so logon is needed.

What I dont understand is that this worked ok last week, and suddenly is not working.
