Brand new business, just registered the name last week... need to order business cards ASAP!

So I need a logo, I have some friends who can churn one out for me in a couple of days for a couple hundred dollars, but it'll be a pixel based logo and I'm not thrilled about dealing with a friend on such an opinion based product.

I just don't have the ability to do it myself, at least not in a very professional manner.

Was wondering if anyone had some input as to how to go about getting a logo designed and delivered (quickly preferably, but I'm not going to double my price to get it this week instead of next).

I'm in Chicago if someone has a recommendation based on brick and mortar rather than website.

Yeah, that's the problem, I have more than I can handle :)

I'm hoping I can get some personal experience responses since they all seem to have good sales teams... also very interested in horror stories if any of you have them, pitfalls to avoid kinda thing.

I've heard good things about
The site works by you deciding how much you want to pay, and forwarding that amount to the site owner. Designers then compete to produce a logo for you (you need to specify how it will used in order for them to create the correct format). Once you get one you like, you instruct the site owner to pay the designer.

Look through the forums for past design competitions. But be aware that even the not-selected logos are copyrighted by the designers.

is awesome! They did the logo for my company (see my website), and I haven't run into any problems having it printed on business cards, brochures, letterhead, etc...

I acutally use them for all of my clients that need logos, I'm starting another Design Outpost contest today, as a matter of fact. For around $150 - $200 you have dozens of professional graphics designers trying to outdo each other on your logo...you can't beat it! :)

Hope This Helps!

Well, I just submitted a project to designoutpost, I'm liking what I'm seeing... so hopefully it'll work out for me :)

If not check out They did my business cards. 1000 full-color, double-sided, UV coated cards for $220! And in a little under a week! They don't offer printing, but make ask them for it when filling out the estimate form and you'll get some high-quality prints. Their a new company, but the designs are nice. They do some of the most impressive work I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

I know this thread is a little old, but here's another one: It's a spin off of Design Outpost, but it just has premade logos for you to select and buy instead of having one created.
