logo issue ?

Hello:

I have recently started web site named

http://www.ecrater.com.

The name of the site comes from 'e' + crater ( like moon crater or volcano crater )

My designer company developed several logos for me and I choose one of their logo ideas. The problem is that the current logo is confusing and some users think that my site is eOcrater insted of ecrater.

Here are the other logos:

Could you please leave some feedback regarding the above logos. Which one do you like best?

I like the first one (top left) of the first page of logos. (logos.gif)

I like the top 2 in the gif very nice.

I like the second of the jpg logos best, followed by the top-right gif one. The one I like least is the one you picked!

Trying to retro-fit some logic to the choices I've made...

[li]It's e crater - two words - not ecrater (which sounds like a French verb). So I reject the logos that don't differentiate the "e" from the "crater": top left and bottom right of the gif page

[li]An empty crater could be (and apparently has been) confused with a letter O, so reject bottom-left and mid-right of the gifs

[li]mid-left gif would be a good logo for eclipse, but doesn't suggest a crater to me.

[li]That leaves the two mentioned above, but I think the bottom jpeg looks more arresting and dynamic than the top-right gif.

Of course, however much I like to rationalise it, it's still just a gut feeling really.
