Hello!

I am creating a coporate brand for a newly developed company and part of it is creating a Logo.

Hopefully someone will be able to help me.
When I have created the logo, do I need to register it any where to protect it? and if so, how?

I have see a lot of companies that have their logo or trade mark registered with a little 'R' that appears next to it.

The company is based in United Kingdom, I would really appreciate it if anyone could advise.

Thanks!

I only know US law. What you're talking about is "trademark" . You can insert the common "TM" after the logo. That means you've claimed trademark and it's legally binding (unless someone else had the same thing before). Registering a trademark (that's the r in a circle) is not necessary but does give you one more level of protection. Again, both TM and registered trademark are legally binding. Here's a link to frequent US trademark questions:
Please remember that English and EU law might be totally different
