Logitech Ultra-X Keyboard Driver Problem

I have just bought a Logitch Ultra-X (USB) keyboard and Windows XP Pro (SP2) cannot set up the new hardware.

The keyboard does not come with a CD as it is supposed to bye Plug and Play and there are no drivers that I can find available anywhere on the web.

Logitech does not support the keyboard because it is an OEM version.

My computer is a brand new Dell Latitude D810 laptop.

Has anybody any idea what might be preventing thie the keyboard from being set up?

Can anybody suggest what I could do to manually install a generic driver? Windows XP will not let me use a generic driver through the add new hardware wizard.

In BIOS setup, is keyboard USB turned on? It may say USB keyboard, or legacy USB, or something like that.

I have just been through all of the BIOS settings and there is no setting for USB keyboards - the only setting refers to :

"USB emulation"

- "This field defines how the BIOS, in the absence of a USB-aware operating system, handles USB devices. USB emulation is always enable during POST."

The setting is "Enabled = USB emulation is always on."

However, the keyboard still cannot be installed and it does not work in the BIOS setup.

By-the-way, I have plugged the keyboard into two other PCs (1 x Windows 98 and 1 x Windows 2000 Pro) and it works as expected in both.

The problem persists...

How many USB ports do you have? Have you tried other USB devices in the USB port(s)? Have you contacted Dell (FAQ's) to see if there is any mention of this? On my Gateway, I have to turn off the touch-pad in order to use plug in mouse.
