I've been struggling to get this darn camera working for a week. I have found the driver, and installed it I think, but I have no way of testing. The only clue I've got that it installed correctly is that it gave me no error. Now I'm trying to get it to test correctly. All I want to use the camera for is to upload an image to my website every 30 seconds. Doesn't seem that hard, and if I knew how to grab the frame, I would just write a freakin' script to do it. Question is, I've seen multiple instances of the interface. Has anyone else used the qce-ga driver? I've seen someone say it was V4L (which I'm not sure is installed at all, standard Mandrake 8.1 install...), or is it something else? I'm not even gonna make avi's or anything. Just a simple little webcam. Can anyone help?

Hi

Is there a driver available? I have a Quicktime-Web camera that I tried to get to work under linux a while ago, but i couldn't find a driver. It's also USB, so that to is a little challenge.

My guess is that you will need the Video4Linux support in the kernel. I don't know if Mandrake has included that in the kernel they ship, but compiling a new one isn't to hard.

I'll post back if I get it to work my second try.
