To all who can help:

I have a Logitech MX Duo wireless keyboard/mouse going through a 2-port KVM. With the KVM in place my PC does not correctly recognize the logitech mouse and keyboard. The keyboard/mouse works but not all of the extra features.

If I plug the keyboard/mouse directly into a PC it detects the keyboard/mouse correctly and all keys work completely.

Does anyone know how to manually set the type of Logitech keyboard/mouse in the registry? Or any other fix for this problem.

Logitech does not suppoort KVM. I checked their website a while back when I had the same problem with a Logitech wired optical mouse, and that is what I found. Look here for their info:

Here is the section about this problem:
Logitech does not support the use of KVM switch boxes, extension cables or port replicators. If you are using one of these pass-through devices, disconnect your Logitech device from it and connect it directly to the computer.

I find it rather annoying myself that they don't support it, but that's life, I guess.

This is a little to all emcompassing as I had an older cordless set from Logitech that worked fine w/ a KVM switch w/ exception of range.

tranpkp, Then how did you get it to work? I'm just curious.. was it a particular type of KVM switch/adapter, possibly?

All,

FYI: Currently my system does detect a Logitech 3-button mouse and a standard keyboard so all standard functions work but the enhanced functions do not. I can see why an older mouse would show correctly because it does not have any special feeatures.

I have done a registry comparison to my system with the logitech device directly connected and going through the KVM. Could not find anything significant. I guess its in the software itself.

I bought one of those cordless keyboard duo sets from logitech and I returned it two days later. I also have a KVM, and it wasn't working with it, and the mouse would do random "Page-forward" while scrolling up with the wheel browsing the web. I also had this weird problem when I switched ports on the KVM that it seemed to insert a random letter to the machine I switched to.

I wasn't terribly impressed by it. My corded set works just fine with it (although, it's a generic keyboard and a M$ optical mouse.)
