I am doing research on various logistic initiatives companies are doing. I would like to hear from vendors of e-business software and other logistic/supply chain professionals on the subject. I have been tasked to head up a logistic initiative that will seriously increase the efficiency of the logistic department. Anything at this time is fair game and I am trying to brain storm to see which direction I should go with this.
Thanx,
Dave

Problems with logistics are usually interface from the EIA or inhouse ecommerce site. The integration between the backend processing, payment gateway/processor and the logistics section are usually all in-coherent parts of a site. It may appear pretty on the outside but the backend is a mess ... something that can tie it all together will be great. It may just mean a good interface that other parts of the EIA can [push] data to the logistics (ie, dispatch order) or [pull] data out from it (CRM needs to know the dispatch history for a particular customer).

regards,
- Joseph
