Hi there.

I have a customer who wants to change the loginscreen, meanig the layout and extra text what you will see BEFORE you login, meaning text before the Login/Password text :)
Anyone has a clue ??

All the file like /etc/copyright or /etc/issue and motd are AFTER the login.

I tried to put the text "rlogind -B /tmp/bannerfile" in the /etc/inetd.conf instead of the standard rlogind text, refreshed the inetd but no result.

Does someone knows how to "satisfy" the customer without going on my knees ? ;-)

Thanks

/etc/issue contains content to be displayed before login for tty connections. Do you know what they use telnet / ssh?

This is also a handy doc
