your ip adress come from a dhcp server?

if yes use the alternate configuration of the tcp/ip using a manual ip adress and dns adress pointing the localmachine

hi

i did try in this way, addingthe alternate configuration of the tcp/ip using a manual ip adress and dns adress pointing the localmachine but still it dosent work

whast the o/s version?

if xp, disable web client service

the 1054 and 1000 events are userenv events indicating group policy application issues...in your case...the 1054 (cant find the domain controller blah blah blah)

open up gpedit.msc (or rsop) and tell me teh setting for always wait for the network at computer startup and logon in computer configuration\administrative templates\system\logon and run logon scripts synchronously in computer configuration\administrative templates\system\scripts

almost got a paragraph there :)

this is a common problem when you dont have any reverse lookups configured on your dhcp server , use cmd and run nslookup (your dns server ip ) and then nslookup (your dns server hostname )

theses should resolve both directions ip to host and host to ip . post your results but i think this is where the problem lies.

also if you could post what is handing out the dhcp and what the dns server is
p.s if you make changes and there not doing anything different on your pc then cmd , run ipconfig /flashdns

Hello.

I have a similar issue which results in a slow logon from a network computer using a logon name registered in Active Directory. This happens occassionally, for example for 5 minutes the logon procedure takes much time on all client computers and after that it goes OK again. I do not have reverse zones on the DNS of Windows 2003 Server but I am proposing to create them. I wonder if this really could cause the problem? In Event log of the DC I occassionally get the EventID 4007 and 6702.
