Hi all,
I have just reinstalled SQL server 2000 on my pc and i have a big problem. the thing is that i cant connect to the sql server, or so i think at least.
when i click on the server manager and try to start the server i get an error "The service did not start due to a logon failure."
I have reinstalled it using windows authantication but still i get the same error.
what might be the problem.

any help will be welcomed.thanks
ilias

My best guess is that the account being used to start the SERVICE is failing.

Do this...

1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type: services.msc
3. Scroll to: MSSQLSERVER
4. Right click -> properties
5. Click 'Logon' tab

Change the 'log on as' to 'local system account' OR set the user name and password to something that works.
