Hello
I am a licensed power user and have a deskphone installed on my desk.
I am setting a user to work from home using Avaya IP Office web client.
When I login to the web client, I can place calls from the web client (till here is ok)

When I open the one-x portal from the Avaya IP Office web client, and I choose to "login to phone" option in the login screen, the one-x portal is logging into my deskphone, and therefore when I place calls it is placing it using my deskphone instead of my web client.

This behavior is not so with users that have the web client running and do not have a physical phone allocated to them.

How can I work around the requirement to have a desk phone and at the same time use the one-x client from the laptop remotely using the laptop multimedia.

(note that I am not using the IX workplace, as it lacks alot of functionality compared to one-x portal)

Use Avaya communicator instead.

One x portal controls your phone and uses your phone to make and receive calls

It allows you to control your phone from the PC.

Avaya communicator will allow you to use the pc as a phone with an USB headset

You can log into it , make an receive calls on the Pc,
Use the usb headset for audio.

thanks Snowman50

I did manage to find a solution that works.
I had to register the phone on a different extension (base extension) than the one in use by the user to login.
