In a NT 4.0 domain. XP clients don't always run the login script. Most of the time I can have them log off the network then log back on and the script runs fine. You can copy the script batch file to the desktop and it always runs. I have set the policy object to wait for slow networks (not sure about the correct verbage) but this hasn't fixed the issue. Any ideas on how to correct this?

Try this instead of the GPO you used:

Computer Configuration
Administrative Templates
System

Under Scripts:
Run logon scripts Asynchronous - disable
Run logon scripts Synchronous - enable

Under Logon:
Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon - enable

bcastner: What does this do? Does it make them run the scripts one after the other instead of all at once?

Essentially it forces a wait for a network connection and logon before applying group policies and profile intialization.

It makes the process identical to Win2k logon. In the alternative what happens is cached credentials are used, and logon scripts could well require an active network connection before a map can occur if non-persistant mapping is set.
