I have a client running Windows 2000 Prof on a peer to peer network.

Environment is tcp/ip . . . no hardware issues.

The server above is set with IP
10.0.0.1
255.255.255.0

Two other PCs in office log in fine.

The problem PC cannot log in.
Its running windows 95.
I put in a new nic and it did run for awhile.
Now...tried DHCP, IP 10.0.0.3, IP 10.0.0.22
NO luck..Cannot browse network cannot login or map a drive.

Used known GOOD network cable. No luck.

Ping 10.0.0.1 shows that we see the main PC.

Can anyone help?

1) Do you have the correct workgroup and/or spelling?
2) have you tried using Netbeui as well.

You can ping the other PCs right? Just cant see them in Net Niegh.? Its not a TCPIP problem I dont think. May be in the Workgroup name. When in Network Nieghborhood can you type in the share address of one of the other PCs and get to it?

Try installing netbeui also enable guest accout on win2k and make the win 95 machine a user on the win2k machine .

i cant get log in to work it doesnt let the local admin get on with her own log in
