login problems for some users

Hi

I've created a site with a basic login page that checks entered details against username/password fields in an access database.

I've recieved a few emails from users who cannot log in. I've tried their login details on my PC and the details are correct.

Is there a reason (other than the user entering details incorrectly) why some users would have problems? E.g. browser/operating system incompatibility etc.

If so what advise can I offer to the users that are having problems.

Does your login code use Session variables? Session variables require that cookies be enabled. Users that have cookies disabled may have problems.

It does use session variables but I thought sessions and cookies were two seperate things and that users only need cookies enabled if the site uses cookies?

I'll ask the user to enable cookies and see if that helps.
