We have a Small Business Server 4.5 SP 6 with exchange 5.5 SP4. Every morning users are unable to login to exchange and as per outlook somehing like " No server is available for the login domain etc". We usually have to reboot the server and then they can manage to login. I reapplied the service pack 6a but its still the same. Could some one suggest something which can fix this problem. Thanks.

Start with the basics:
- Did the netlogon service start, did the NIC bind to the protocols, etc.
- Check the Event log for any ! marks
- Check the services for MS Exchange items, did they all start
- How is your free drive space? Are tmp files filling up what you have left? Are your backups purging the exchange logs? Are you using circular logging in exchange?
- What back up are you using? If NT backup are you batch file shutting down services? Are they starting up?

Eveything Else is working Normally. Event is spitting an error "No licence was available for user using product MS Exchange IS 5.0". But we are using the MSDN version and we do not require a licence under 10 user as per the Microsoft Article 184187 & 142391.We are using the same server since more then 3 years now we never had any problem. We recently upgraded the hard disk to 35 GB. The only problem we are having now is users have problem logging onto exchange every morning and after the server is rebooted it fine.
Any Suggession Please.

How long have you been using this MSDN version of Exchange?

How many users do you have connecting to Exchange?

We have had this issue once before, or at least something quite similar.

What we found was that the machines were having trouble with the name resolution to the server, and we had to /winipcfg the machines to refresh the IP lease.

Has anything network-wise changed for you recently ?

We had had this MSDN for almost 3 years. And we have about 15 user connected. I knon that MSDN does not support more then 10 user but we did not had any problem since 3 years.

Answer to the other question :

Has anything network-wise changed for you recently ? NO

Problem Solved
The Solution was to increase the memory in the Administrative Tools
Licence manager
and increase the Licence for exchange to 200 and the login problem disappears. Thanks for your help.
