Login Page

Hi All

wondering if anyone can help im a total newbie and to be honest my site is only a personal web site but i would like to add a login function to my site. I am using front page and publishing to IIS which i have complete control of and have SQL server running on the same box.
On a previos site i used the windows authentication to log on but i just want to use a form for this now can anyone point me in the right direction

Are you wanting to use an ASP / .NET server side language to communicate with the MSSQL database? Or are you wanting to use Frontpage Server Extensions?

Thanks for your response coreybryant.

I am a totaly newbie so i guess it would be what is easiest. I am not to bad with queries and connecting to databases. I have made up my login tables etc but dont know how to submit from a page and authenticate.
Any adive or examples of code would be great
