logging to remote database via ODBC (code)?

Hi everyone!

What's the best way to include a VB code into my VB app (that's a form where I enter some parameters and than fire up the CRViewer with the report) to automatically log on to my existing database via ODBC? I will need to specify an IP address and a port number...
