When logging form a WindowsXP machine to CW2000, there is no loging prompt, and the cookies is desabled. This is only with WindowsXP machine. Anybody experience this problem.

The symptoms are not exactly what I have experienced but CW2K does not play well with the version of JRE that XP comes with.
I copied the following off of Cisco's Web site.

"The recommended browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (JVM 5.0.0.3805). There are some issues with IE 6.0 Service Pack 1, so be sure to check them. Also, IE 5.5SP2 (JVM 5.0.0.3802) is supported in CiscoWorks Common Management Foundation (CMF) 2.1 and CiscoWorks RMEv3.4. Make sure the Microsoft VM (Java Virtual Machine) is installed.

CiscoWorks uses JRE Version 1.3.1 only. "

This is just one spot. I am still looking for an avenue to upgrade CW2K so that it will play nice with newer versions of JRE.

For any "NON XP" devices you can just uninstall the JRE 1.4.? version and it should work fine. I don't know if you can unistall the JRE version on XP or not. Look in add/remove programs to see if it is possible.

Hope this helps

Windows XP went with their own version of java called "Microsoft VM" and no longer supports Sun's version of Java which CiscoWorks2000 uses. You are still able to download Sun's version and run it but I would recommend going into Internet Explorer's internet options and disabling Microsoft VM and enable Sun's version. This should correct your problem

I solved this problem, the reason for this was there was no JVM installed on my Windows Xp machine, Once I installed the JVM ( Java Virtual Machine ) I am able to ciscoworks 2000 form this workstation. If anybody need the JVM you will be able to download it from this site "
Thanks
