Previously, users at my company logged onto the Citrix farm by setting up a custom ICA connection and choosing "published application".

Now our Citrix reseller is saying that for load balancing to work correctly on the farm, users should stop using custom connections and create "application set" logins instead.

Does this make sense? Why or why not? Thanks for helping!

As long as the application is published for use on each Server being load balanced, I can't see that it would make a bit of difference. We do both here, custom connections and application sets-just depends on what the user needs.

Hope this helps.

I thought so myself. Custom connections were working very well, until our reseller came to rebuild one of our servers. Then load balancing was malfunctioning after that and I was told to switch people to app sets.
