Hi all,

Is there a way to log on to 15 odd systems (all xp pro), simultaniously? I use vnc to administer them and its tedious logging in as admin every time. I wondered if you could just send out your login to the machines?

Cheers.

What are you trying to administer on the machines? I don't know of any way to simultaneously login to all the machines, but there may be some remote admin tools you can use so you don't need to log in directly.

Thanks,
Andrew

You could use a VBS script to either 'connect to each PC' and/or 'login to each PC' (sorry, but these are different actions) consecutively and automatically from bootup of your PC.

After testing that your VBS 'connect/login' script worked OK then you could encode the VBS script (e.g. to protect the admin password) or convert it to an EXE using something like Greg Palmer's excellent 'RunAsUser' utility (see
Alternatively, your encoded script could create the necessary 'connect/login' script automatically from a self-deleting script run from bootup.

Just be aware that encoded VBS scripts are often not secure.

A much more dangerous (i.e. insecure) method is to have your VBS script just run shortcuts to .VNC files, i.e. to previously saved .VNC connections where you have saved the password.

Hope this helps...
