I have an NT4 domain and two exchange 5.5 servers. I have OWA installed on its own server.

When users attach to this web server from the internet they are presented with the default OWA login screen.

At that default OWA login screen the users have to enter in their complete email address in order to log into OWA.

Why can't the users use their network username in order to log into OWA?

Just curious. The less typing, the better!

Thank you!

We resolved this by making our e-mail ID the dame as the network ID, you can change the email id in Admin without impacting the user, you just have to tell them their new e-mail ID. Of course it also changes their address, so if they have had it awhile, they probably won't be happy.

Using Exchange Admin make the Alias field for each user the same as their username and then all they have to enter is their username instead of their address.

The Alias field is in the mailbox properties on the General tab for each user.
