Logging into a database using SSMS from non-domain machine

I have a client who, quite properly,has all SQL Server do’s set to Windows Authentication. I have a VPN connection, I can see the database server. I even have a Windiescaccountinntheirsystem. However being on a non-domain computer gives me no obvious (obvious to me, anyway) way to authenticate.

Is there a Windows kludge?some script trick? A SQL Server configuration? Just give up?

you can shit+right-click on SSMS and start it as a different user. Assuming your VPN was setup to allow it you may be able to enter your client supplied domain/user/password and have it authenticate to their domain
