Hi all,
I have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server box with about 25 users that connect via Wyse win terminals. They all connect to the web via another box running Winproxy.

Now here's the problem. In the winproxy log, all users on the terminal server show up as the terminal server itself. So instead of seeing each user's internet usage I see everyones lumped together as the same box. How can I get these users to appear in the log?

I've even tried loading Winproxy on the terminal server itself, but it does not work.

Anyone else experience a similar issue?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Can WinProxy log by username, possibly requiring a user to authenticate before access is granted (similar to Cisco)? Microsoft and Novell firewall/proxies do this, then you can get a log with user names. Otherwise, all requests are coming from the same server, so they'll all have the same address.

Winproxy only logs by the computer name. I downloaded the trial version of Microsoft ISA, but it's too involved. I just want a simple proxy server.

Is there possibly anyway to do this locally? Like auditing IE activity?

rp420,

Lakeside Software's, SysTrack can track and control the websites your user are allowed to visit; without impacting system performance.

SysTrack reports on web usage/sites visited by users and generate alerts, actions (shut down the browser) & notifications if necessary.

Good luck!
