Hello

If my Serial interface or Frame Relay goes down I want to be notified that the backup ISDN has kicked in. I have enabled logging to a server with the command 'logging 172.16.3.11', but nothing gets logged in the syslog file.

Can anyone tell me what needs to be set on the interfaces to trap these changes.

Help appreciated as always.
Tim

Try setting 'logging trap debug' which sets all levels of logging for trap to the syslog server. You should be getting interface up/down by default though so you may have a bigger problem. Give it a try though.

You can trap link-status using SNMP.

Hope that helps
