when logging out, the server shuts down.. Any suggestions

check the System Event log to see if anything strange is logged when this happens (on the server).

Also, instead of using the gui to log off, try

Start --> run -->

type

LOGOFF <enter>

See if there is any difference using this method to log off...instead of the gui.

is there a logoff script set in the GPO that shutsdown the machine you are on? I.e. something might have been put in place to do this for users so when they log off for the day it shuts down their PC. The policy may also apply to the server you refer to.
