I have a site that has a 509pr that is having issues with logging calls. #317, #317, #319 are all set up correctly. The customer says that some ext's are logging the calls sometimes but not always. Here is what they said....

"Station 10 has the "log all calls" active.
Station 12 is programmed not to ring but is still logging some calls.
Station 15 which is programmed to ring is also logging calls intermitently.

All three call log programming features are programmed to all phones."

Any ideas???

Is the Customer answering the phone on the first ring? If So the caller ID Information wont be logged becouse its sent between the first and second ring. Sometimes depending on the carrier, even later then that.

Do they have new or old style phones? The old MLS style phone cannot log calls.

I think that you will only log calls that you answer yourself. Ext. 10 (if set as "log all calls") will show all calls whether or not it answers all the calls.

And yes, wait for the 2nd ring before answering, otherwise you may answer before the CID comes in, and you might also hear the CID squeek when you lift the handset.

If clid is required, you could try setting all ringing to delayed ringing, this will ensure that the call sends clid before the phones ring, so it should be logged at ext 10. This ext will log all calls, since it is set to log all calls whether answered there or not. it will also ensure clid goes to all the phones before they are answered.

the customer may not like not hearing a ring until the third, so it may only serve as a way to endure the logging is working correctly, and it is an issue of answer before the clid is sent, and recieved as the issue.

If this fixes the clid logs not being populated then you have solved the issue as a result of calls being answered before logging occurs.
