Hi all, I've just set up logcheck to email me important logs. I'm having a small problem getting it to actaully email me the results. I have a faily tight iptables script that allows only ssh, ftp, ftp-data, http, and smtp in and out with default drop policies for everything else. I only recive emailed logs if I change the policy to accept. (i.e. logcheck is trying to use a port I've not allowed). Would anyone know what I'm missing here?

Thanks

Richard

need more info. Is this a fw that seperates your local lan or do you have one box that is running iptables? Is the logcheck program emailing you outside of your network?(i.e. like to work from home or vice versa?)
