I'm having problems restarting the log_full.sh program when my solaris 2.6 server reboots. I run Informix7.3.1, Once the server restarts i have to kill informix, restart it as user informix and run the log_full.sh script. My logs then backup ok.
I run an identical system which works perfect and have no issues and both the setups and permissions are identical.
Does anyone know where I should look as i'm now at my wits end looking for this.

Hi Jim,

I guess logful.sh will be called from your DB Server and not realy from your hand. It will start if a logfile is filled and marked for backup. If you do nopt want to backup you've to change the ONCONFIG-Parameter
ALARMPROGRAM to maybe nolog.sh or a file you want to execute.
I guess that helps

Thanks for the resonse, however,
I do want my logs to backup continuously
I do have log_full.sh set up in ALARMPROGRAM.
the problem is they don't start on boot up - why?

Jim

Jim,
did you compare the two logful.sh scripts ?? Did they call the same command ? (e.g. onbar -b -l ). Or is your LTAPEDEV set to the correct Tape ?
Which user will start the Informix when you boot the system ?
maybe the command should be started with "su informix -c <startscript>" (pls run man for the correct syntax)?
