I have setup log shipping from one of our app db servers to an MI reporting app server so that they can extract data to be used in their reports. I setup log shipping so that the destination DB is in standby/read only mode. The logs are being created and copied to the destination servers folder every 15 minutes and are around 40MB per log file, the logs are then restored once per day at 2200 with the option to disconnect users enabled. I setup the source server to be the monitor server.
I can see in the LS monitor job that it is alarming saying that no logs have been restored for a long time. When I look at the history on the destination server for the restore job it is saying that it is skipping all the log files and then at the end says no logs restored, the job is not failing or erroring though. I have checked the destination DB and it is only showing the latest data from when I set it up and the setup backup was restored.
I have tried removing log shipping using the wizard (uncheck the option & save) then deleting all the logs, destination DB and job histories and recreating log shipping but it is doing exactly the same thing.
